RAILWAY ORDER.

Tlie Minister for Railways has issued the following instruction to the staff :— " On the day of the f uiierat of the Queen no railway business of any kind wkatever is to be transacted in any part of the colony between the hours of 11.30 a.m. and 12 o'clock noon, and every member of the railway staff, whether permanent or casual, is to cease -work for the halfhour specified and to stand reverently by during that period. No train is to be started between the times named and every train running on any portion of the railway lines of the colony must be ( brought to a standstill at 11.30 a,ni. and remam^motionless until 12 noon, at which hour the ordinary business of the department is to be resumed, Trains which have been stopped will continue their journey at noon, running correspondingly later to destination

The central portion of the Lanibtcn quay frontage of the Government Buildings has now a funeral appearance, by reason of the black drapery, here and there relieved by white rosettes, which almost entirely cover it from ground to gable. Finishing touches wore yesterday given to the draping of the General Post Office, which is festooned with black and white on the Customhouse f(uay, Grey and Panama-street elevations. On the pillars' flanking the main entrance violet and black draperies have heen interwoven.
