ACCIDENTS & FATALITIES.
Another instance of carelessness in the use of firearms was furnished during the hearing of a case at the Dunedin Court on Wednesday, when it was shown that two boys, who wero rabbit shooting, shot a young lady in the groin. Medical men have, so far, failed to extract the bullet.
Two accidents to children have happened at Castlccliff during the past couple of days—one to Miss Dollic Gatenby, who had her right arm broken through a fall from a horse; and the other to Miss Gladys Armstrong, who had her left arm broken by slipping on the wharf. \7o learn that both patients are recovering satisfactorily.

Nelson, January 19. -A young man named Richard Ward was seriously injured yesterday afternoon by a fall of earth at a quarry at wliich he was working. The injuries consist .of severe cuts, bruises and a.dislocated hip. Nearly twenty tons fell. Two other men were working with Ward and they had a narrow escape.
