ADDINGTON MARKETS.

There were very small yardings at Addington, only 2600 sheep, 12 fat lambs, 920 store sheep, 280 cattle, and 260 pigs coming forward.
Fat cattle-97 head, 10 steers, and a few extra prime cows. The paucity of supply caused a sharp advance in all sorts. Good to prime beef 25s to 29s per 1001b, cow and secondary sorts 18s to 245, prims steers£9 15s to £10 12s 6d, others £7 15s, best heifers £7 to £8 12s 6d, others £4 10s to £,d 10s, extra prime cows £9 to £10 15s, good 10s to £8, others £i 103 to £6.
Fat sheep—The few which come forward were mostly wethers of good to prime quality, ewes being scarce. Business was almost confined to butchers, as supplies are noiv so short that in a few weeks it is thought the factories will havo to be shut down. Freezers 17s Gd to 203, lighter sorts 16s 3d to 17s, hoggets 15s to 16s, best ewe 3 17s to 19s lid, others 15s.
Fat lambs—l 2 new lambs came forward, and were tafcou by butchers at from 12s 3d to 15s.
Store sheep—There were only three lots, and a line ot 4SO wethers, 200 sold at 14s sd. The rest were withdrawn. 66 goods-lowes in lamb 19s 9d.
Pigs—l'here were good entries, but quality was not bo good. Values were well maintained. Baeoners 27s 6d to 33s 6d, equal to 3jd to 3|d per lb, porkers 22a 6a to 30s, equal to 3|d to 3Jd; There was a fair demand for good stores which sold at 13s to 20s, but as suckers and weaners were scarce they were firmer, realising 10s 6d to 12s.
