FOOTBALL.
The following arc the players for I lie match Palmerston North v. Mancheater Club, for next Saturday : — Fullback, A Symons ; three quarterback, Jjickson ; halfbacks, Salmon & Templar j quartet backs, F. Smith, & Joe (Maori); forwards, G. Smith, Seeker, Haultain, J. Moftatt, Sliilhud, W. Motfatt, Paltridgo, Lyon, H. Shoerin. Pluy will begin at 3 p.in, sharp. Non-playing membpis arc requested to bring jewys to the secretaiy Mr Haultain on or befoie to-morrow. With such a team as the above Pahnerston should hold its own against allcomers.
We arc requested to intimate that owing to unavoidable causes the regular monthly meeting of the Miinawatn Kilwinning Lodge lias been postponed till Wednesday week. At Messrs Stevens an<l Gorton's sale at the Borough Yards to-day, the bidding was not very brisk. In Colonel Gorton's absence Mr Sherwill conducted the sile. The inaugural meeting of St. Pc tor's Young Men's Club and Institute will take placo at its rooms, Main-street, tomorrow evening. Tea will be provided at 7 o'clock, and all interested m rhe movement are invited to attend. No charge will be made for admission, and a pleasant and instructive meeting is looked forward to. Stanley has discovered a river m Central Africa called Kissmelonga. It cannot be very far from Lake Nyumnyuni.
