An Old Identity.
( Post. [ In our obituary column to»day will be found the announcement of the death of a veteran colonist, Mr William Sunnex, who died at the Upper Hutt, on Baturday morning, at the great age of 89£ years. Mr Sunnex, who was a sawyer by trade, arrived m this district about 42 years ago, and was consequently one of the earliest settlers. He took up his abode at Pefcone, where the first settlement was formed, and subsequently lived at Lower Hutt, Taita, and Upper Hutt, m succession, farming and woodcutting. He was a hale and hearty old man, and on his 89th birth* day, m December last, he sang half-a.. dozen songs m a way, we are informed, many young men might well envy. His wife, who is some ten years younger, still survives, and there are nine children living.
