COLONIAL RIFLE CONTEST.
(From the Wellington Independent, April 30.) The annual colonial competition for the Championship of the colony and the usual prizes offered by the General Government, took place at Dunedin on the 27th, 28th, and 29ih inst. The following is the result of the firing:— FntsT Day. Weather cold and wet ; showers of rain and sleet. Judging Distance Prizes.—At such distances, not exceeding COO yards, as may lie appointed by the officer in command of the firing party ; 5 shots in the whole to be fired by each competitor, who will judge his own distance.
