WELCOME HOME SOCIAL.
Wednesday, September 25th, may now be described as a "red letter day " in the history of Becks. On that date Mr Robt. Mee, "Mine Host " of the Becks Hotel, brought home his bride. In the evening the hall was crowded with friends of the young couple from the whole district throughout. Mr and Mrs Mee on entering the hall received the inevitable fusilade of rice. The Grand 'March; led off. by the young couple, was very pretty. The numerous beautiful dresses worn by the ladies and the decorations to the ball, in all, constituted a very pleasing spectacle. ,A hearty welcome home was extended tc the bride and bridegroom by Mr Howjohn That gentleman, on behalf of their many friends, expressed every good wish for their future welfare.. Messrs J; Ryan and ( , T. J. Francis -also welcomed the young couple, r 'which was followed by musical honors,. In a few' well-chosen words Mr Mee responded.
The various items contributed were Miss Crabb, Messrs A.. Paterson, Wm. M'Connochie and M. M'Kenzie songs, and recitations by Messrs M. Ryan and C. Alexander,, all of which were much appreciated. Mr E. Morgan's band supplied excellent music, and the M.C.'s, Messrs A. Brown and Jas. Mee fulfilled their duties admirably. The dancers were kept .going until 3.30 a.m., when all departed for their homes, having spent a most enjoyable night. ... ... . ..Guest.
