METEOROLOGICAL.
Rain has fallen during five diys with a total fall-of-39 inches for the month. The lowest reading of the thermometer was 3 9 degrees on the night of the 4th, and the highest 63 degrees on the 15th—Central Nursery, Ranfurly.
At St. Bathans during August the rainfall was 1-19 inches. Rain fell on 11 days the greatest fall being -3G inches on the 18th and the.least -01 (hoar frost) on the 31st. The mean temperature at .9.30 a.m. was 41-8 degrees, the highest reading being 53 degrees on the 17th. and the lowest 30 degrees on the 2nd and 4th. The rainfall for August last was '2sin and the mean temperature 31-29 degrees.
The rainfall at Kokonga for the month of August was -39 in. Rain fell on eight days during the month, the heaviest fall beiue •16inonthe 16th.
