PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH SOCIAL AT EWEBURN.

A social was held in the Eweburn schoolhouse last Thursday evening in aid of the funds of the Presbyterian Church. The attendance was good, the programme excellent, and a very enjoyable evening was spent by one and all. The Rev. James M'Cosh Smith presided, and in his usual happy style introduced tbe various singers to the audience. The Naseby choir of the Presbyterian Church gave several anthems, and solos were given by Misses Luscombe, N. Beed, Taylor (2), Rrown, A. Wilson, Messrs Travis and Coghill; duets by Misses Luscombe and Forgie, and Luscombe and Glenn, and N. and S. Reed ; Recitations by Misses Wilkie, L. Law and Mr Slater; a cornet solo by Mr H. Moore, Mrs G. Botting anl Misses Taylor played the accompaniments on the piano and organ. During the interval refreshments were handed round.
