WHERE ARE THE FOOTBALLERS?
TO THE BDIIOE. Sir,—Although I have been watching three or four Saturday afternoons to see a game of football, I have so far been disappointed. Has the local club become defunct,"or what is the reason? Being a subscriber to the funds of the club, I should certainly like to see my money's worth. I notice some five or six players who regularly turn out, and it must he discouraging to them to find that after attending, perhaps at some inconvenience, they are unable to have a game. In my opinion a meeting should be called to consider the matter, and decide whether or not the club shall be wound up. If it be decided to carry on, then I say the members should appoint as deputy-captain some player who can be relied on to attend practice natchen. It appears to me that certain of the Prospectors wish to follow the example of the Palnierston club.—l am, etc., PROFESSIONAL..
