[From Press Association.] London, May 17. At the wool sales to-day 11,800 were catalogued - since the opening. More demand is ■ experienced, and there is a slight improvement in the prices generally. Mr Gladstone is again suffering from indisposition, and has been ordered by bis physicians to take rest from the duties of Parliament. -Constantinople, May 17. Owing to representations made by Ambassadors of the Powers, the Porte has withdrawn the conditions it placed upon the proposal for the cession of territory to Greece. The arrangement between the Grecian and Turkish Governments, which is the final settlement of the frontier difficulty, will be signed without delay. Sydney, May 18. The JRev. J. Chalmers has written a letter in reference to the murders which have recently been committed by natives of New Guniea, recommending the Queensland Government should dispatch a body of native troopers to punish the perpetrators of these outrages.
