At once it could.'ibe seen that great interest in the event. The men lost little time in getting hold,, and both began to work as if they meant business. In less than a minute after a hold was got, Tyson threw Thomas cleanly, .and. the Victorian came down fairly underneath with a heavy fall. This gave the men a fall each, and Tyson, who had wrestled through the bout in an honest, manly fashion, as if he meant to throw or be thrown upon ■ his merits, was cheered to the echo, and greeted with hearty handshaking by his friends. A fter about quarter an hour the men entered the ring again, and again the spectators were treated to some fine honest play, although there was no result. The men twice got hold after some extreraly : careful play. The second time Thomas .>swung Tyson, but was unable to get any advantage, and the hold resulted in a slip. The second time Thomas got his heel behind Tyson, and tried his utmost to twist him underneath, but in vain. Then for a couple ofminutes the men struggled hard, and the spectators looked on with breathless 'interest, but eventually each slipped his head through the other's arms, -no tall resulting. The. men were then ahowed half and hour's spell. ' , At the end of that time they entered ths ring again. JTive minutes or so were spent in three vain attempts lb get hold. Eventually the men got .together, ana 'Thomas at once tried the back-heeling as before, but it .was of no use, for -Tyson secured an easy, fall almost momuentarily; Thomas" almost- appearing to slip, so easy did he go down. The enthusiasm •in favor of Tyson at the finish was very '. great, his friends rushing into -the ring from all quarters, hata and Bticks going iuto the air, and the cheering being sustained for several -minutes. Campbell then threw Allen and Tyson Campbell. This constituted Tyson the-Owner of th 9 Caledonian Society's Belt, having held it for three years successively against- all comers. The belt was taken int the ring, and fastf-ned round the v> aist of the Champion-by the President of the Society (W. C. Kirkcaldy, Esq.), amid great cheering. Coenish Weesthkg- —l2i. stone and under.
