TELEGRAMS.
(From our own correspondent.) Dunedin, Thursday Afternoon. It has been raining heavily since Sunday. Floods are anticipated. A landslip near Blueskin has suspended traffic on that section. The Government have received news that the New Zealand £3,500,000 loan has been thrice floated. It was subscribed over on the first day. It has been an immense success. Ihe Government are not yet aware of the average price realised, as the allotment was. not made , but it will be something over par. The loan is 5 cent., with currancy of from 10 to 40 years, at borrower's option. The authorised public works will now be vigorously pro - ceeded with. At the Waste Lands Board petil ions were read, asking for 10,000 acres to be thrown open on run 228, (Dalgety's), and 2500 acres on Strode and Fraser's, Dunstan. The Board appointed Messrs. Bastings and Green to inspect and report on the land to the Board. It was.also agreed to recommend 10,000 acres on N.Z. Land Company's run, Moonlight Flat, under agricultural and deferred payment system. Applications will be received at Macraes on July 24th. The Bingarooma has not arrived yet. She left the[Bluff on Monday. It is supposed she is detained outside by a heavy fog.
