The Chairman stated that the financial position of the institute waa very favorable.., The funds in hand were in •' excess of what was the case last year, notwithstanding that the erection of a new building an a fever ward had been . Undertaken. He called upon the Secretary, Mr. E. T. George, to redd the report, whivih was as follows :

In resigning into the hands of the sub•eriberjs the trust confided to them, the Committee beg to report as follows ■:-• The Committee were elected on the Bth *f.. January, last year, and found the establishment in fair working order, but yet with room for improvement. A fireplace %as required in the small ward, as also a : bettor supply of water A fireplace has •/, been erected, and pump fixed in the gar- ,
. More accommodation was required, in - cases of fever, or contagious diseases. Yquf Committee decided to apply to the, Government for aid, and received a grant for , £IOO. Tenders were at once called for, and accepted, for a building in the sum of £267 10s. 6d. The work is progressing, , and expected to b«. finished in about *■ month. The supply of water was still found infy adequate to the requirements of the institution. The Committee therefore com•menced the construction of a dam, from 'which water can be brought down to the >house in pipes. Arrangements have been made for the work. Jin September last the institution lost through death, the valuable services o , . Dr. Dick, which they replaced as bes :•;--, they could, by appointing temporarilyt -'i Dr. Pultney, and in October approved the I application' of your present surgeon, Dr. _'".. Whitton. Very shortly afterwards the t ; wardsman and matron resigned. It then V /became necessary to appoint others; arid your Committee are very happy to ,•, report that they consider everything is ~ .now working satisfactorily. '".-.... v. Of this .mumber 13 were in-paying patients, 19 # .destitute m-patients, and 2 out-door pa- -. tients. The surgeon's "report will afford information as to disease, &c. t The financial condition of the, institution has, on the. whole, been satisfactory! '. 'The balance in t'he-hands of the Treasurer (or bank) at the commencement of the' year was £134 9s. Bd. Subscriptions and' • donations received amount to £303 9s. 3d. Subsidy received from the Govern- ' r'htent amounts to £366 19s. 6d. This' in-' .. eludes the £IOO .granted by the Government towards the new building. V,Tbe expenditure has been £552 13s. 7d., and there will be due the contractors the sum of £267 10s. 6d. There is a balance in the hands of the Treasurer of ,v ; £36o Bs. 6d. Prom this-must be de--ducted £67 4s. 10d., accounts passed for: ■payment, leaving a balance to credit of ; the institution of £293 3s. Bd. To'this ; must be added subsidy due from the Go- . vernment, £lB5 14s. 9d., making a total of Your Committee have held during the year 21 meetings—viz., 12 monthly, and 9 special, Tho attendance has been— K. iW. Brown, 11; Inder, 21; Jackson, 19; Green 15; ■Stewart, 13; Greer, 15; Barron, 10Morgan, 2 ; Johnstone, 3. ' The District Committees have rendered Talnable service by their liberal donations during the year. The medical report was alao handed in arid received. The report of the retiring Committee wati received, and a vote of thanks tendered to the 'iilfmbera for their successful management of the institution. Mr. Inder, being again called to the Chair, Mr. H. W. Robinson was re elected President; Mr. H. Anderson, Treasurer; and Mr. E. T. George, Secretary—Mr. Anderson stipulating that he must have more to do than he had had formerly. After discussion, the following gentlemen were nominated and appointed (without ballot.) as th«i • Committee forNaseby: —KevH E. Williams and J. M'Coah Smith, and Mews. Green, Inder, Jackson, Barron, 'A. M'G. Brown, K. H. Browne, and Greer; and Messrs. Jobnßtone, G. H. Smith, J. Cogan, B. S. Bobth, Collins, and Morgan were -unanimously elected for Blacksrone Hill, St. Bnthans, Serpentine. Hamilton, Hyde, and Kyeburn Diggings. .-Messrs. Glenn and Wilson, being, appointed auditors, the meeting broke tip with the customary vote of thanks to the Chair,
