GOLF.
HERRINGTON Y. PALMERSTON NORTH. The Herrington ladies ' halved with the Palmerston North (Te Matai) representatives in a match played'on the Herrington golf links yesterday afternoon, the lqeal players and the visitors being successful in winning four games each.
A most enjoyable afternoon was spent and afternoon tea was partaken of in the club house, where Mrs J. Newton acted as hostess.
Details of play were as follows, Palmerston North player's being mentioned first-Mrs Mullaney lost to Mrs M. B. Bergin; Mrs MeMurray beat Miss L. Thompson; Mrs Ciochetto heat Miss N. Woods; Mrs Free beat Mrs ,S. Austin; Mrs M. Hume lost to - Mrs N. Robinson; Mrs Berryman beat. Mrs L. C. Bryant; Mrs Heald lost to Mrs W. H. Smith; Miss Thwaites lost to Mrs F. A. Mason.
The following .team Avill represent the Herrington Golf Club in an inter-club match with Palmersfon North to be played on the local links on Saturday, 11th July. Play will commence as near as possible, to 1.30 p.m. and any player unable to play is asked to notify the secretary or captain as soon as possible: — L. C. Bryant, J. D. Purcell, J. H. Purcell, M. B. Bergin, R-. Robinson, B. Collins, L. SavAvell, Rev. Father Rohan, A. K. Maidens, J. R, Newton, D. R, Ogilvy, J. NeAvton, D. H. NeAvton, H. S. NeAvton.
