FOXTON BASKETBALL CLUB.
PRESENTATION TO MSS (MARGARET BARRON.
A happy incident occurred last evening when about twenty members of the Foxton Basketball Club, together with their coach (Mrs M. A. Mrs Ross, after apologising for the unavoidable absence of the club captain (Miss A. Roore) made reference to the excellent'sporting ' spirit displayed by Miss Barron during her association with the club and said how sorry the girls were to lose such a popular player as Miss Barron had. proved to he. After wishing Miss Barron every success in the career she had chosen, Mrs Ross, on behalf of the club members, called on her to accept a handsome wristlet watch as a token of. affection ancl esteem from her fellow players. Miss Barron suitably responded stating that she had at all -times thoroughly enjoyed basketball in Foxton and that it was due to the untiring coaching of Mrs Ross that the team had reached and maintained its high standard of play. She was extremely sorry to be severing her connection with the' local club and she wished to sincerely thank those present for the gift and the good wishes extended for her, future sdccess. Miss Barron was then accorded musical honours.
