BOWLING
AWAHOU FERNS TO-DAY. It is expected that a Shannon rink Avill visit Foxton this afternoon to play a match for the Aivahon Ferns. The local holders are: Thomas, Jas. Ross, NeAvtli, Hoavo (s). TARANAKI TOURNAMENT. The Foxton rink —Robinson, R. Roore, Trueman, Thomson (s) — who have been playing in the Taranaki tournament, have met with moderate success, and at the time of receiving the last reports, had secured 4 wins and suffered 3 losses. Trueman and Thomson are also playing in the pairs tourney. The weather has been variable, rain interfering a good deal in the early part of the play.
