COMPENSATION DEMANDED OF BOROUGH COUNCIL.

SEQUEL TO RIVER PROTEC-

TION SCHEME. At last night’s Borough Council meeting a letter was read from Mr A. Fraser demanding compensation for alleged damage done to willows on the Manawatu River bank by Borough Council employees. The matter was taken in committee and on resuming in open Council the following resolution was carried:— “That amends be tendered to Mr Fraser on the lines indicated at this meeting and that the Mayor and Councillors Rangiheuea and Robinson accompany the Council’s solicitor in an interview wth Mr Fraser.”
