GASWORKS.
At last night’s meeting of the Foxton Borough Council the Town Clerk reported as follows on the working of the gas works: — The amount of gas manufactured during the month of October was 286,700 feet, which with the amount in the holder on Ist October, 14,836 feet, made a total of 301,530 feet. During the month 242,900 feet was used by consumers, 19,80!) feet at the works and there was 10,518 feet in the holder on ber 31st, making a total of 273,218 feet accounted for, and leaving 28,318 feet, representing 9.4 per cent., unaccounted for. Twenty-five and a half tons of coal were carbonised, yielding 11,262 feet of gas to the ton. The amount of coal in stock on October 31st was 99 tons. The amount of coke in stock was 3 tons. GAS MANAGER’S REPORT. •The gas manager' (Mr A. G. Thomson) reported that during the month 286,700 c.ft. of gas was made at works and 25$ tons of coal used. The gasholders are at present receiving a coat of prepared tar and the plant the usual annual overhaul. —Adopted.
