GENERAL ELECTION.
RANGITIKEI AND WANGANUI CANDIDATES.
Following on the announcement that Mr Ormond Wilson, of Bulls, is to stand as a Labour candidate for Rangitilcei comes information that Mr J. T. Hogan (Independent) who narrowly lost the seat last year, is to take the field again. In the Wanganui electorate it is fairly certain that Mr J. Cotterill, a young aspirant to offi.ee will be nominated by the Labour Party to oppose Mr W. A. Veitch. It is thought in some quarters that Mr W. J. Rogers, who has contested three other election campaigns in Wanganui in the interests of Labour, ■will be prevailed upon to stand. Mr Cotterill hqs been a Labour candidate for the City Council in the past, and at present is a prominent member of the Metropolitan Rugby Union’s Management Committee.
NEW PLYMOUTH .SEAT
It is understood that Mr James Roberts, secretary of (lie New Zealand Alliance of Labour, and vice-president of the New Zealand Labour Party, will contest the New Plymouth seat at the next General Election, in opposition to the sitting Government member, Air S. G. Smith, who is Chairman of Committees in the present House.
