Mr J. P. Clouston, Chief Postmaster at Dunedin, has been appointed to a similar position atAuckland. He will be replaced at Dunedin by Mr J., Madden, Chief Postmaster at Wanganui.

The Hon. E. A. Ransom, Minister of Lands, is at present an inmate of a private hospital at Dannevirko which institution he has entered for treatment.

The appointment of Mi’ A. Bain, chief inspector of schools in the Taranaki district, to a similar position at Auckland, in succession to the late Mr W. G. Blackie, has been notified by the Education Depart--6 ment to the Auckland Education Board.

'At meeting of the Wanganui Education Board the following teachers resignations were received: —Mrs M~ Turner, sole teacher, Bainesse; Miss I. M. Malcolm, sole teacher. Bluff Road; Miss J. W- Gee, assistant, Haleom!be; Miss I. D. Hummer, relieving staff; Mr F. K. Markham, relieving staff; Miss*E. Bishop, assistant, Horopito.

The death occurred at Greytown yesterday of Mr Henry Stunell, aged 36. Mr Stunell served with the-Medical Corps for three years during the Great War. He was a former Wairarapa representative footballer, a member for some years of the Wlairarapa Rugby Union, a past master of the Greytown Masonic Lodge, and a member of a number of local bodies. A son of the late Mr and Mrs H. Stunell (formerly of Poxton) he is survived by a widow, a , young son, and five brothers and three sisters. -
