NO BEER OR PETROL.
TWO DAYS IN THE YEAR. GOOD FRIDAY AND ANZAC DAY Henceforth neither petrol nor beer may be sold legally in Victoria on Good Friday or Anzac Day. The Legislative Assembly h'as passed legislation to close hotels on Good Friday, which had already been agreed to in the Legislative Council. .Hotels are at present compelled to close on Anzac Day. "
The Legislative Council agreed to a clause Factories and Shops Bill to prohibit the sale of petrol and oils on Anzac Day and Good Friday. The Legislative Assembly wished to close garages on Christmas Day, too, but the Council would not consent to this. As a 'compromise, the Assembly accepted the clause to relate only to Anzac Diay and Good Friday.
