FOXTON CRICKET ASSOCIATION.

ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Foxton Cricket. Association was held in Walls’ rooms last Friday evening when there were present Messrs F. Woods (chairman), J. Veale, S. Newth, Len. Mohekey, T. Scott, D. Cowdrey, and the secretary (Mr. It. A. Nichols). The balance-sheet was presented showing a credit balance of .1/8, which together with the report, was read and adopted.

The elecion of officers resulted as follows: President: Mr F. Woods (reelected); vice-presidents: Messrs .T. Walls, F. C. Raikes, D. Knewstub and W. E. Bullard; secretary and treasurer: Mr R. A. Nichols; management committee: Messrs H. Reid, It. Roore, S. Newth, D. Cowdrey, J. Veale; selection committee: Messrs It. Roore, Newth. and A. T. Nichols; postponement committee. Messrs F. Woods, J. Veale, and IT. Reid. The secretary was instructed to write to the Manawatu Cricket Association accepting Labour Day as the date for the representative match for Wednesday players and advising the Manawatu Association that Mr Norris had' been re-ap-pointed as the local representative on the management committee.

It was decided to have the Austin Shield suitably engraved. A game between Foxton arid Orona Downs was arranged for Saturday next, play to commence at 1 p.m.

It was decided that the two-dav games commence on Saturday, October 27th. The secretary was instructed to write Messrs D. Ellwood and D. Knewstuh thanking them for their services last year as umpires and expressing the hope that their services would: be available for the coming season.

It was decided that umpires be elected before the commencement of each game.

The fixtures for the first round were drawn un as follows: OCTOBER 27 NOVEMBER 3. Fire Brigade v. Orona Downs A, at Orona Downs; Druids v. Y.M.P., at Victoria Park; Textile v. Orona Downs B, at Easton Park. NOVEMBER 10—17.

Fire Brigade v. Textile, at Easton Park; Y.M.P. v Orona Downs, at Orona Downs'; Druids' v. Orona Downs A. at. Victoria Park. NOVEMBER. 27 DECEMBER 1

The draw for the first round is based on the assumption that Textiles is entering a team.. If Textiles do not enter a team the team selected to play them as stated above will have a bye. The meeting terminated with a vote of thanks to the chair and to Mrs "Walls for the use of the room.
