CAR AND CHARABANC COLLIDE

A collision occurred at the intersection of Cook and Johnston Streets shortly before 9 o’clock this morning between Alessrs Aladge Bros, charabanc driven by Mr. V. McDowell, and a ear owned and driven by Rev. Father P. B. Breen, of Levin.

The charabanc was proceeding up Cook Street in the direction Alain Street and the ear was travelling along Johnston Street in a northerly direction. The charabanc was well on the intersection apparently before it was noticed by the car driver.' Air. AlcDowell swung! the bus round to go with the eat and the front (bumper struck a post on the corner. The sudden application of the brakes threw the school children off their seats but fortunately no oue was hurt. The car struck the front wheel of the charabanc and had its mudguard and running board buckled but the driver escaped without injury.
