FAREWELL SOCIAL.

A pleasant social evening was held in the Town Hall supper-rooms last evening by the local Euchre Committee to farewell Air. and Airs W. Williams and Air. and Airs McGill. Items were rendered by Miss W T . Harris (elocutionary), Airs Byne (song) and Air. J. Raupi (songs), and a Maori quartette. A half hour’s; community sing was led by Air. W. Harris. After supper was dispensed Air. F. Shaw and Air. J. Aladden presented Air. and Airs AlcGill and Mi. and Airs Williams with a small token in appreciation of their services and support during their stay in Foxton.

Mr AlcGill and Mr Williams suitably replied after which the company joined in singing “For They are Jollv Good Fellows.”

Dancing was then indulged in until midnight, the music* being supplied by Airs Ross and Air Carter, and a very enjoyable evening was brought to a close with the singing of “Auld Lang Syne.”
