LEVIN BOROUGH BY-ELECTION.
An election to fill the seat Avhich became vacant in the Levin Borough Council through the elevation of Councillor P. W. Goldsmith to the mayoralty, took place yesterday. The interest in the contest Avas not so keen as Avas anticipated, only a|hout one-third of the electors on the roll recording their votes. The voting resulted as folloavs :—W. G. Bishop, 321, D. Stuart Mackenzie, 279, 11. A. Phillips, 48.
