PLUNKET SOCIETY.

The monthly meeting of the local branch of the Plunket Society, was held in the Plunket office yesterday afternoon. In the absence of the president, Mrs W. 11. Walton occupied the chair. Those present were Mesdames Christie, Pearson, Trueman, Baker, Heasman, Rimrner, J. Downes, Roore, and McMurray. Apologies for absence were received from Mesdames F. Robinson, A. Stevenson, J. M. Barr, D. R. Barron and A. Ross.

The nurse’s monthly report showed visits to Foxton 5, to homes 18, adults to office 78, children 82, new cases 7, letters 6.

Mrs I. Corn was elected a member of the committee to fill the place of Mrs F. McDonald. Mrs C. Pearson’s group committee, who have held a series of card evenings for the purpose of raistheir quota of the necessary funds, handed in the amount of. £l4 6/6. The other members of the group are Mesdames Downes, Heasman, Trueman, Barr and Walton. A vote of appreciation of the successful effort made by these members was recorded.
