OTAKI MEETING,
The opening day of the Otaki meeting was held .yesterday in very wet weather. There was a fair attendance, but the totalisator was £4,003 10/- down, as compared with (he opening day last year, the respective figures being £14,468 and £18,471 10/-. Results. — Kapiti Hack Hurdles. —Starshell 1, Hokioi 2, Blvnette (J. Proctor) 3. Won by 4 lengths. Time 2.58.
Pulii Maiden Plate. —Bank Note 1, Polonaise 2, Some Lad 3. Won by a length. Time 1.22. lvatihiku Hack Handicap.—Gardant 1, Lin Arlington 2, Sir Moment 3. Won bv 2 lengths. Time 1.42.
Ling Memorial Stakes. —Indian Sage 1, Shining 2, Nukumai 3. Won by 5 lengths. Time 2.24. Pahiko Hack Handicap.—Black Mint 1, Lucky Days 2, Bronstell 3. Wjon by a length. Time 1.29. Waitawa Handicap.—Joy Bird 1, Gold Box 2, Lady Fingers 3. Won by a head. Time 1.32. Taumanuka Hack Handicap.— Royal Mint 1, Pangolin 2, Jazzy 3. Won by a length. Time 1.59. Ivercihi Roera Handicap.—Buoyant 1, Santonio 2, Sir Pam 3. Won by eight lengths. Time 1.48. TO-DAY’S RESULTS. The weather is unfavourable for to-day’s meeting, affecting the attendance.
