There was a sensational occurrence at Aramoho this morning, a woman, whose name is unknown, falling from a railway carriage on (he train fro nr Palmerston North through (In; bridge into the Wanganui River below.. The occurrence was witnessed by several passengers. It is believed the woman joined the train at Great ford. Dragging operations are proceeding, but were unsuccessful up (ill midday. Baler. The name of the. woman is said to he Winnie Melville, aged 38. A lad named Ramshotiom, son ot the slalionmasler at Aramoho. pluckily swam to the scene, but the woman sank before he could reach her. The lad was finally racked up in an exhausted state by a rescue boat.
