Mr Yerikeh-Bindox completed his examination of tins school on Friday afternoon, and wo now have the re--6U ts before ug. "We regret to say that the percentage of passse3 is small, -.being only 62.5 ou the nuinler examined, made up as follows : — S. 1, 666; S. 2, 51 2; S. 3, 84.4; S. 4, 50 0; S. 5,33.8. Mr Wviker-Bindon notes that • l something should be done towards competing pupi'g to attend more regularly. Besides the large number l! excepted " (failed to make lmlf the possible attendances) several of those whohave failed haveattended only just over ha f the possible times " The average ages of the pupi's in iv the different standards are— S. 6, 14yrs. The work of a girl over 14 is described as bang "quiet unable to read." Ono girl's work in S. 3, is described as " senseless work," and another's as " very untidy work." In S. 4, the oldest boy failed to pass, owing to bad attendance. Amongst the first divisi hi of the infants appears the name of a girl 12 years and two nvmths old ! In writing on this in (a t division the Inspector states " I trust a great effort wi-1 be made to prepare a laige first Standard out of this luij-e " Infants" class for next exam inn tion.
