OTAKI HIGHWAYS BOARD.
Saturday, November 22, 1879
The Board met at the office, Otaki, at 2 o'clock p.m. Present — Messrs Simcox (Chairman), Hadtield, Kebbel, M'Ciae, and Dr. Hewson. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed.
A letter from the agent of the Bank of New Zealand, deferred from last meeting, was taken into consideration, and it was ordered that £80 be placed as a fixed deposit for six months.
Letter read from Manawatu Highways Board, stating that £20 12s b'd, being subsidy on rates collected by their Board, had been paid into the account of the Otaki Board, and that the accounts between the two Boards are now settled.
Letter read from Mr Da vies, applying for leave of absence. Leave granted for this meeting.
Tenders lor the valuation of the Otaki Highways district were opened and road, as follows : — E. S. Thynne, £20; J. A. Knocks, £10. Proposed by Mr Kebbell, seconded by Dr. Hewsou, and carried, " That the tender of Mr Knocks be accepted."
Mr KebbeJl gave notice of motion for next mooting as follows : — " That all office^expenses of the Otaki Highways Board be divided amongst the different Wards, iv proportion to the rates collected in each Ward."
The. next meeting of the Board will be held- on Saturday, December 20, at 2 p.m.
