HOUSE of EEPEESEMTATIVES Mr Sutton moved that all po*. tious of Hansard affecting the Maori race should be translated. Mr Stevens wished the whole of Hansard to be translated. The Hon Mr Sheehan opposed the full translation, oa the ground of expense. Mr Taiaroa opposed Mr Sutton's motion. The subject was referred to the Reporting Debates Committee. The Government said they hoped to bo able to pass the Harbour Bill this session. Mr Taiaroa gavo notice that he would ask leave to bring in a Bill to amend Maori representation, "w The adjourned debate on «k [ question of readjustment of rcpresen- " * [ tation during the present session wus I continued. Sir Robert Douglas asked the Governnient to bring down a series of resolutions embodying the principles of readjustment. The lion Mr Stout said if the present resolution was carried, the
Government would consider that the House approves of the principle of representation wholly upon the basis r of population. *.
