WELLINGTON/ Aug. 11. The House spent the evening on private members' Bills. : \ The State Bank Bill, which had been introduced by Mr Veiteh, was struck off the order paper, as it infringed the Standing Orders preventing a', private member moving an appropriation. . Mr Veitch contested the Prime Minister's motion, which was Carried by 35 votes to 23. ™ iAn amendment to the Police Offences Act, moved by Mr Stathain, to prohibit live pigeon matches, ■■» as read a second time. J Mr'Wright's Bill to greatly extend the issue of Maori Avar medals wta considered in committee. It mot with opposition from the Minister .or Defence and many others.
