HIGH COMMISSIONER'S HEPOUT.
The Department of Agriculture kns received the following cablegram, dated Jiily 31, from the High Commission for New Zealand, Ltnndon:— "Meat: Market' unchanged, prices same as last quotations.
"13utter- Government butter unchanged at £13. Fes wholesale, 2s 8d per !b retail, but is reported that liom September 1 price will be raised by 4d per lb. Average price English butter is £17 19s 6d, small supplies coming forward. . Irish, is also scarce at about-.€lß 10s.
"Cheese: Slow demand for English, at £8 12s to. £9 2s per ewt. Price, Canadian, irregular; quotations, c.i.f., lower at £7 10s to £7 12s; spot, £7 14s. to £7 18s." "Hemp: Manila, market quiet and is easier. Seller? present quotations for J grade are:—April-June and ■Way-July shipments. £03; JuneAugust shipment, £63 lCs; July-Sep-tember and August-October shipments, £64. New Zealand market qijiet and .prices unchanged. Sellers quote high-points spot. £53; MayJuly shipment, £->l ; fair, £oo; SlayJuly shipment, £51. "Honey: Market quiet and price:; unchanged."
