WEDDING
CHAPPELL—WALKER
A pretty wedding was solemnise<i -ton Thursday, 3rd. June at St. John's Church, Waitara, b.y the Rev. G. H. <Javin. the contracting parties being Amy Walker, fifth daughter of Mr and. Mrs James Walker, ot Sprin^lands, Blenheim, and Mr ]Norjnan M. .Ohappell, the youngest scoi of Mr and Mrs H. Chappell, of Waitara. The bride, who was given away by Mr T. R. Ford, looked charming in a white crepo de chin© and georgette frock, trimmed with pearls. She wore the usual veil and orange blossoms, and carried a bouquet of ■chrysanthemums, roses, and maidenliair fern. She was attended by two ibridesmaids, the chief being the bridegroom's cousin, Miss I. K. Bird, •of Netlson, who wore a pretty rote crepe de chine and georgette, dress embroidered with sequins, and a "black hat trimmed with roses to match lier dress. The second bridesmaid was Miss B. Z. Button,, of Waitara., who looked dainty in a dress of lemon •ci-epe de chine, trimmed with, mauve, «nd a black hat to. match. • Mr T. D. Shortt, of the Bank of New Zealand, Manga v wekj>, -fulfilled the duties of best man, while Mr 0. H. Vincent, of the Bank's Palnierston North .staff, acted as groomsman. After the -tujremony the guests were- entertained at a, breakfast in the Foresters Hall, when the usual toa&ts were honored. _\t the conclusion of tho festivities -the happy couple left by motor on their wedding tour, amid the wollwishea of their numerous friends. Ine bride travelled in a grey costume, with hat to match, and white tnr. Mr iand Mrs Chappell were the recipients ♦nf many useful presents, including -cheques.
