WEEKLY SALE.
Griffiths Bros., Ltd., report having held their usual weekly sale on Saturday before a large attendance. A large catalogue was .submitted, but the reserves in many cases not being reached a number of lots were passed in, Pigs made a fair entry, and prices showed an upward tendency. Poultry was well represented, prices bein«- on a par with last week s rate. Prices ruled as follows:—Cows (due early), £20 to £19; pigs,.light stores 37s 6d, wcancrs (small) 235, 20s, to 18s; poultry, ducks 9s Gd to Bs, iowls 7s sd, 6s 6d, 6s, to os per pair; aoples, 7s to 5s per case; sets of harness £12 to £11 10s; pollard 245, bran 17s, peas (damaged) 2<s to 2os, barley thirds 20s to los, potatoes los per sack ; onions, 18s per cwt. Furniture of endless variety sold readily, the principal prices being: Sideboard £15, duchess chests £o 10s to £4 l()s, dining chairs 18s to 16s each. During the week the firm held a successful furniture sale on behalf.or Mr R. O. Skeet, Waterlea, Bidding throughout was spirited, and a good clearance was effected, the principal prices being: Piano £85 and bedroom suite of three pieces £34. The next snle by the firm will bo held at Renwickto'wn on Wednesday next, when the household furniture and effects of Mr J. Haizghcy will be submitted to auction.
