HIDE AND TALLOW SALE
Tht fortnightly sale of hides, tallow, etc., was.held in Wellington on Friday.
Hides.--A nice selection was submitted to the usual attendance, of tanners and exporters. Prices were somewhat erratic. Compared with the sale held a, fortnight ago, there was a general decline all round, exc-Cnt fnr kip, which showed a slight
advance. Inferior lines were entirely neglected, buyers not showing any disposition to operate on these sorts. Quotations: —
