Pailiame-nt has and r more than usually heavy avalanche of questions .has been hurled at tbof the Ministerial benches. Ther? are indication^ already, that Members will criticise very freely the administrative acts of the GovernTnent, and there is every promise b* the session being both long and lively. We are glad to, .see that a substantial increase in the old age pension rates has been advocated, and that the Ministerial reply indicates that the Government recognises that something must be done in the direction of assisting the pensioners to meet the increased cost of living. Next week. Parliament- will' debate the Governor's Speech and the A< dress-m-Reply. This will give Members an opportunity of dealing wiH a variety, of matters.- upon which there has been some public discussion during the recess, and some xiseful And wholesome criticism of the Government's methods should be the*
