Unti] the evening, when a large crowd assembled in" Market Place to hear tlie results, the municipal elections were quite overshadpwed by the commemoration of Anssac Day. The. final returns were, announced by the Town Clork from the rotunda, at about eight o'clock, and were received with cheering. The voting in 1915 vast Oorry. 742; Carr 647: informal, 27; total votes, 1416,' majority for Corry 95. The number on the electors' roll in 1915 was 2197; on this occasion it was 1929—a decrease of 268. The decrease in the voting between the two elections was 216. : The-number of votes cast in 19J.5 was 204 less than that recorded in 1914. >=. Bythell. Mr White was the only memoer of the old Council who btood for re-election and was not returned. Mr W. E. Gasctoigne and Mr G. Patchett did not seek re-election. Several of the candidates ascended the platform at the rotunda and thanked the electors for their support. ■>•„-./. •
