* (Christchureh Press, Saturday.) It is reported that there is nn inquiry for wheat on - the parh of southern millers, and'offers of 4s 8d have been made. Except in one casey however; this price has been refused. The fact that southern buyers are in the market lias, also 'stimulated some local inquiry. Owing to the rise in potatoes m ■Melbourne :\r.d Sydney, the local market is firmer, "and prices now range from £7 5s to £7 10r> at country stations. There is no business of-any consequence passing^ in other lines of produce. ' , The following are the prices paid to farmers at country stations, free of commission, sacks extra, except where otherwise stated: — Wheat (nominal). Oats (nominal). Barley—(nominal). Flour—£l4 f.0.b.; 1001b bags, £14 ■;0s; SClb bags, £14 los; 251b bags, £15.. Bran—£s' 5s per ton for shipping. Pollard —£6 per ton. Oatmeal.—£23 per ton. Oatsheaf Chaff—(Nominal) . £6 10s to £~ per ton. Potatoes—£7 5s to £7 10s; Ryegrass—ss to 5s 6d, extra to 6s. White Clover.—ls to Is 3d. Cowgrass—7d to Bd. Peas—Partridge, 5s 9d to 6s. Cocksfoot—6d to 7d per lb. DAIRY PRODUCE. The price of hams and bacon has advanced per lb. For new season's factory cbeese B^d, and for new d,'iry cheese 7fd to Bd, is being- paid. Extracted honey is worth 4id per lb'. Local wholesale prices are reported as under* — Butter—Factory. Is sd; farmers' separator.
