The exnorts of butter, from New Zealand during August last totalled 2091 hundred weight, of a- vnlue of £16.561, as compared with 5596 hundredweight for August, 1914. of :i vahie of £32.242. For the first oiglit months of the present year, the oxT>orts of butter amounted to 2.1.9.547 hundredweight, of a-total, value cf £1,303,981, as" against 249.129 hiuidredweight of a value of £1,395,856 for'the first •eight months of 1914. Some 30,185 ewt. of cheese, of a value of £118,672. \ras exported from the Dominion during August last, as against 76 cwt. only for N Augn<t, 1914, of a value of £275. For the first eight months of each year, however, the figures are very similar, riie advantage, indeed, in value, and much more so in weight, being rather with 1914.- The figures for the iirst eight months of 1915 are 575.109 >v,-t."., valued at £1,872,855; and for-1 ho ft'-st eight months of 1914 they >vere Col,----490 cwt.,-valued at £1.932,U r>6. .

During" August 66,881 ounces of, gold, valued at £258,106, was exported from New Zealand, as against 3088 ounces only, rallied«• at for August of last year. Fi>r the first eight months of this year, however, only 133,976 ounces, valued at £528,116,* was exported js aira-nst 207.478 ounces, valued at i' 822,406 fo- the first eight months «)f 1914. Oh hops 237,8391b were exported las f August, the total valwe 1-oing £7748: whereas in August of '9.1.4, the figures, were 31,0261b of a total value of £1761. For the first -ight months of 1915, the export of hops was 383.4961b, valued at £15.018: but in the first eight months of 1914 a smaller export, 305,0431b, brought a greater return, £16,952.
