According to the English War Cry, the profits of the Salvation Army's Trade Department during the past year amounted to £4400, which is to be distributed amongst the customers. Tiffs is the outcome of the profitHsbaring scheme inaugurated in 1911, giving to soldiers and officers purchasing uniforms, literature, and other requisites, a share in the busi- \ ness. Part of ;the scheme was that 5 per cent, per ajinum should be paid on the capital employed in the Army's Supply Stores. The profits above that were to be distributed amongst the customers, and for the past year these equal 8$ per cent. Another re--sult w/is a big increase in the volume of business done.
