MARSHLANDS v. WAIRAU B.
Robinson was very conspicuous at Marshlands' on Saturday during the progressjof the Marshlands-Wairau B. match, and in the first innings of the home team annexed 76 runs in bis own peculiarly hard-hitting manner. Whiteley (17), Whittle (13), "sundries" (23V and other batsmen helped to swell tile total to 169. This score proved beyond Wairau B.s measure, for despite good displays by Hylton (39), Chiskolm (29),, and Bottrell (26) the innings closed | for 128, falling short of the desired! number by 36. Blinkp came on at rather an opportune time when Wairau B. were attacking, and settled the pretensions of five batsmen for 16 runs. Ross (4 for 45) also bowled successfully. Whittle proved his versatility by taking 5 wickets for 29 for Marshlands, and was ably assisted by Sheridan. Details are as follows:— MARSHLANDS—Ist Innings.
