THE PAPKE-SMITH CONTEST.
Referring to the contest between Papke and "Dave" Smith, which was won by the former, the Sydney Referee says Smith was beaten, but not disgraced. He put up the pluckiest of plucky battles, and although he 'proved by far the better boxer, had; to succumb to the greater force and Mtting power of his opponent. ' i ■■ .
