NAVAL CHAPLAINS.

WELLINGTON, Sept. 15. The Presbyterian Church has been in negotiation with the naval authorities for the appointment of chaplains to vessels of war visiting New Zealand,' with the result that the following six have been appointed: — Revs. Dr. Gibb, Wellington; Mr Nisbetj Dunedin; Mr Bates, Lyttelton; Mr Tennant, Port Chalmers; Mr Laiskley. Bluff;, Mr Murray, Auckland. Other places like Timaru and Napier have asked for local applicants to be also appointed, but the Presbytery decided that the above^ was enough for the present.
