JUBILEE BAND CONTEST.

MEETING OF COMMITTEE,

The Jubilee Band Contest Committee met in the Institute last night, when there were present: Messrs F. W. Dodson (Chairman), E. Rose, C. Parker, 'Fraser-Tytler, Pope, Nash, Graham Griffiths, McDonald, Sowma'n, 'V. Holdaway, Coward, Father Holley, and Messrs Parker and Mitchell (hon. secretaries). JUDGE. .Messrs McLeod and Lieut. Herd forwarded their nominations for the position of judge, and Mr McLeod was elected by four votes to two. A SPORTS MEETING. , The Jubilee Association wrote asking the Committee if it could arrange a sports programme for the same afternoon as the marching competition.

It was resolved, on the motion of Messrs Parker and Rose, that. the committee could not arrange,a sports meeting.

COMMITTEES. The following committees were set

Finance: Messrs R. McCallum, J. R. Sharp, Fraser-Tytler, E. Parker, and Father Holley. , Accommodation: Messrs Coward, A. Brunette and Graham Griffiths. Advertising and Programmes: Messrs Fraser-Tytler, C. . N:ash, C. Parker, Lord, Dodson and/Churchward. .

Tickets: Father Holley, and Messrs Pope, Sowman and Graham Griffiths.

Instrument Inspectors:. Messrs A Currie and F. Birch.

Hall and Grounds: Messrs W. J. Girling, P. Hadfield, V. Holdaway and F. Bull.

The secretary's programme as drafted was adopted.

It was_ decided to tender the bands a reception in the form of.a garden party on Tuesday, November 2nd, if suitable grounds could be obtained. The meeting then terminated.
