Colonel Seely, Under-Secretary for the Colonies, replying to Mr Ansfcruthsr Gray, Conservative Member for St. Andrews, said that no report had been received of an attempt by natives to haul down the B.ritish flag in the Cook Islands. The -'New Zealand Government, he added, had ample power to deal with disturbances if .such occurred.
