.In the Licensing Bill, the clause restricting the opening of hotels on Sundays in the provinces to threw hours was adopted by 237 to 55.
The Government proposes to extend the restriction to London, owing to the favourable reception of the clause.

Dewsbury beat the Australian League team by 3 goals and 3 tries (15 points) to nil. The Australians at times pressed strongly, but were generally outplayed. Messenger i& suffering from an injury, and did not play.
The "Wallabies" defeated Durham Pirates by 4 goals and 3 tries. (29 points) to a dropped goal and a try (7 points). The match was played at Hartlepool. Durham were good in the loose, but the "Wallabies' " outsides were brilliant. In the first half Dix, Russell and MacKivatt secured tries, Carmichael converting two. After half-time Dix and Craig each obtained one, and Russell two, tries.
