ONE BAND OR TWO ?
TO THE EDITOR.,
Sir, —In common with many hundreds more, .1 stood in Market Square last evening and watched £he torchlight procession. What struck me very forcibly was—not the procession, for of that there was very little indeed—but the playing of the united Garrison .and Hibernian Bands; and I could not help feeling sorry that they were not really one band; If the two could be induced to amalgamate, what a band Blenheim would have! Each band in itself is a credit to the place; how much more so would it be if the-fortyor so instruments were combined into one ce-rr.posi'te whole, under one name and' one management! Of course>there are difficulties, but if these could be overcome I am satisfied that our band would be able to hold its own with almost anything outside the four centreSandWaftganuL. HARMONY.
