YOUNG AND INNOCENT.
TO THE EDITOR,
Sir, —I was amused upon reading Councillor Griffiths' latest effusion. He lays- down the law .so authoritatively that I .really wonder at you, Mr Editor, having the temerity to dispute his dictum. He says, "Notwithstanding the fact that I have asserted," etc., "you continue" etc.; and "I have no objection to argument," "but it is wrong of you," and so forth. There is a good deal of "I am Sir Oracle" in thisstyl^, and when he opens his mouth we know, upon Shakspere's authority, that riot- even a dog should presume to bark.; My friend Lew." Griffiths is, notwithstanding, a good fellow, and when he gets a little more age he will be all right. He means well, but at present he is young,—painfully young.—Yours, OLD RATEPAYER, June 25, 1908.
